Being a flaky stone it should never be cleaned with pressure higher than 800 PSI, considering the grout lines and healthy and have no cracks in them.

Before cleaning or high pressure cleaning slate floors or pavers, it is wise to find out what sealer was used to seal the slate as certain acid based cleaners are able to damage or strip off the sealer over a period of time exposing your stone to potential damage.
